OVERVIEW:

The A4988 is a micro-stepping driver forcontrolling bipolar stepper motors which has a built-in translator for easyoperation. This means that we can control the stepper motor with just 2 pinsfrom our controller, or one for controlling the rotation direction and theother for controlling the steps.

Adjustable current control lets you set themaximum current output with a potentiometer, which lets you use voltages aboveyour stepper motors rated voltage to achieve higher step rates
Intelligent chopping control thatautomatically selects the correct current decay mode (fast decay or slow decay)
Over-temperature thermal shutdown,"under-voltage lockout, and crossover-current protection.
